What is fajr?

The Fajr prayer is the daily Islamic prayer done in the early morning. It consists of 2 rak’a. This prayer is offered between the break of dawn and sunrise. Owing to its timing, Islamic believes that the Fajr prayer has a great importance. In the month of Ramadan, Islamic begin fasting with the Fajr prayer.

What is Zuhr?

The Zuhr prayer is one of the five daily compulsory Islamic prayers. Tnhis prayer is offered after the Fajr and before the Asr prayers. It is done between the zenith of noon and sunset. Besides, this prayer contains four cycles (rakah). On Friday, this prayer is replaced by Friday prayer which is mandatory for Muslim men.

What is Asr?

The Asr prayer is the afternoon prayer offered by Muslims. To perform Asr prayer, make ablution, face the Qiblah, and then recite Surah Al-Fatihah. In this prayer, Muslims bow, prostrate twice, and close while sitting if it is possible. Further, Asr has four rakat fardh and compulsory units that makes it longer compared with other daily prayers besides Maghrib.

What is Maghrib?

The Maghrib prayer is one of the five compulsory Islamic prayers. If counted from midnight then this is the fourth one. As per Sunni Muslims, Maghrib prayer starts after sunset and ends at the beginning of night. As per Shia Muslims, Maghrib and Isha prayers are performed one after another and the period for Maghrib prayer extends till the midnight.

What is Isha?

The Isha prayer is one of the five compulsory Islamic prayers, and it contains 4 cycles (rakah). In Kashmiri, it is called Khoftan Nemaz.  Similar in Punjabi, it is it is known Khuftaan di namaz. The five daily prayers offered by Muslims are one pillar of the Five Pillars of Islam, in Sunni Islam. As per the Shia Islam, one of the ten Practices of the Religion.
