The celebration of Taranaki Anniversary Day is accounted on 09^th March 2026. This day celebration acts as the mark of remembrance of Foundation Day when Taranaki province was established in New Zealand.

Every year, this event falls on the 2^nd Monday of March month. However, it was not selected to match with Easter.

No more Taranaki provinces fall under the abolished provinces surveyed in 1876. Instead, it is the settled area referred to as a region.

Plymouth Company in the year 1841 took the necessary measures to facilitate the settlement of Taranaki provinces which was later named New Plymouth Province. And later again it was renamed Taranaki Provinces.

Approx 8 million years ago, a supercontinent named Gondwana split and established a relatively smaller landmass. Suddenly Tasman Sea roused and carried the land future would be called New Zealand away from Australia and Antarctica.
